The Orion Skyquest XT8i Intelliscope is the upgraded version, with computer control, to make finding objects as simple as entering a code.
A database of 14,000 objects will keep even the most demanding amateur astronomer happy, and operating the controller couldn’t be simpler. Just enter the code for the object you are looking for, and the controller will direct you straight at it.
Powered by a single 9v battery, the backlit digital readout can be read in dark conditions and has an easy to understand keypad, with keys marked ‘Planet’ ‘Galaxy’, ‘Star’ etc.
Alignment is by the ‘Two Star’ system, where you just find two known stars, and the controller then works out where it is. Arrows on the readout point in the direction that you should move the telescope up or down, left or right, and the object you are looking for will be found in seconds.
Either model can be added to with a range of accessories, like a padded carry case, and solar filters supplied by Orion.
Hi, Daniel Here! When I’m not busy working at my own startup, you may find me roaming around the Univers and whats beyond our sky, telescope is a must.
